Sustainable Livelihood to Orphan and Poor Through Vocational Training

 The Jammu & Kashmir Yateem Trust's Hunar Se Rozgar Programme is a significant initiative aimed at empowering orphan girls and young widows through vocational training. By providing them with valuable skills, the Trust not only addresses their immediate needs but also offers them a path to sustainable livelihoods and dignity.  Empowerment through Skills Practical Skills Training:The Trust offers training in various crafts like cutting-tailoring, embroidery, tilla work, sweater knitting, and computer skills. These skills are marketable and enable the women to become self-sufficient.

Education Alternatives: Recognizing that formal education may not always be feasible, the Trust focuses on practical skills that can directly improve the economic prospects of these women. Dignified Livelihood Monthly Income: The vocational training helps the women earn a monthly income ranging from Rs. 5,000 to 15,000. This income supports not only the women themselves but also their families, improving their overall quality of life.

Breaking the Cycle of Poverty /Economic Independence: By providing practical skills, the Trust helps these women escape the cycle of dependency and move towards economic independence. This is a crucial step in breaking the cycle of poverty that often traps marginalised communities.

Community Impact Ripple Effect: As the financial situations of these women improve, the benefits extend to the broader community. Children of these women are more likely to receive education, and healthier, educated families contribute to overall community development.

Vocational Training Centres :The Trust currently operates ten centres where vocational training is provided to orphans and widows. These centers are pivotal in imparting the skills needed for these women to achieve financial independence and improve their quality of life.
